Alexis Hanquinquant
- LATEST TRIUMPHS:
- 2016 ITU World Championships – Gold

Hanquinquant immediately burst onto the scene only last year. He won the men’s then-PT4* open at the 2016 World Championships in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Those World Championships were only his third International Triathlon Union event; his first was a World Para Triathlon Event (WPE) in Strathclyde, Great Britain, where he finished seventh and showed improvement at the next WPE competition on his home course in Besancon, where he just missed out on the podium.
As a latecomer to Para triathlon, Hanquiquant did not compete at the Rio 2016 Paralympics. However, 2017 will be his first full season, and the reigning French national runner-up is expected to keep Germany’s Martin Schulz and Canada’s Stefan Daniel – the respective Paralympic gold and silver medallists – on their toes.
